Use it with clear fresh water. We haven't lab-tested this filter yet, so we don't make claims about exactly what it removes. To be safe, bring filtered water to a rolling boil for 1 minute (3 minutes above 6,500 feet) before drinking.

Collected rainwater or creek water isn't safe to drink as it is. Filter it, then bring it to a rolling boil for 1 minute (3 minutes above 6,500 feet) before drinking.
